Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding will be cocktail attire, but keep in mind this is an outdoor wedding, and it is Colorado. Lighter colors and more summery fabrics are perfectly okay. We suggest that men wear a suit (any color is acceptable) or a jacket and tie, and women wear a long, midi, or cocktail-length dress (no ballgowns necessary). A dressy jumpsuit or pantsuit works as well!

Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

While we love your kids, the wedding ceremony and reception will be for adults only. Your children are welcome to all other events such as the welcome dinner and the park day. If you are in need of child care, you can request a local babysitter through CB Babysitters: https://www.cbbabysitters.com/

Question

Will transportation be provided to and from the wedding?

Answer

Yes! The wedding shuttle will pick up guests staying near Mt. Crested Butte at the roundabout in Mountaineer Square. The bus will depart at 3:15pm. The ride from Mountaineer Square to the venue is about 15 minutes. This will be the only shuttle picking up from the Mountain, so be sure not to miss it! Guests staying in the town of Crested Butte will be picked up from the 4-Way Stop beginning at 3:35pm. There will be at least two loops of shuttles at this location. The ride from the 4-Way Stop is about 5 minutes to the venue. As a reminder, there is no parking available for guests at the venue, and there are NO ride-share services in Crested Butte. All guests will depart from the venue site together at 10:30pm. The bus will stop in town first, before dropping off guests staying in Mt. Crested Butte. NOTE: We will have a smaller, private shuttle available for guests who need to leave early from 8-10pm.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

While renting a car is not mandatory, we recommend having one if you plan to venture outside of the town and mountain resort. There are multiple car rental options in Denver and Gunnison.

Question

What is the best way to get around town?

Answer

Free Shuttle: Mountain Express is a free public transportation service to get you around Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. The bus goes between the two towns and it runs every 20 minutes from 7:35 am to midnight every day during the summer months. Bike Rentals: Crested Butte is a bike-friendly town so renting bicycles is a popular way to get around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Car: Free two-hour parking is available throughout downtown CB and free long-term parking is available in public parking lots.

Question

What's the weather like in the summer?

Answer

Summer in Crested Butte is typically mild and pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from 60°F to 75°F. Evenings can be cool, so it's advisable to bring layers.

Question

How will the altitude affect me?

Answer

The town of Crested Butte sits at an altitude of 8,885 ft and if you are coming up in elevation, you will likely feel it. Take it easy particularly if this is your first time at high altitude, it is best to arrive early and give yourself 24-48 hours to acclimate. If you don't have this luxury of time, beware of certain things such as alcohol intake, or physical exercise that may affect you differently. 2-3 drinks at sea level = 1 drink at altitude. Hydrate like crazy to avoid altitude sickness!
