Helen and Ryan initially met during college at Georgetown University when they were placed in the same group for a business school project. Ryan seemed pretty shy and didn't socialize much during that project, however he now claims he was just focused on his academics. While they shared similar friend groups and frequented the same watering holes at Georgetown, they still didn't know each other well. That quickly changed though, as they soon found out they were going to be studying abroad in Madrid, Spain during the Fall semester of junior year. They were excited to have a familiar face in the small group abroad and quickly became best friends in Madrid, bonding over their love of Spanish culture (aka tapas and sangria).

Helen and Ryan came back to Georgetown as best friends after their time abroad. They had all the same classes together junior & senior year as Ryan was inspired to copy Helen's major & minor, so it seemed as if they were inseparable. But contrary to popular belief, they decided to take their relationship to the next level AFTER graduation, and the rest is history! Ryan proposed in September 2021 in El Retiro Park in Madrid, back to where it all began ~so romantic~ We're so excited to celebrate our love with you. See you in NY!
