FAQs

The Wedding Website of Robyn Mordain and Helen Moran
Although we have thought a lot about the day you might still have questions. These are some of the ones we have thought of in advance. However, if you have any other questions, please drop us a message as we love talking about our wedding and sharing our excitement!
Question

I would like to give a gift, what can I get you?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate our love with you, while your presence is truly the best gift we could ask for, if you'd like to give a little something extra, we would be deeply grateful for contributions towards our dream of becoming mummies and growing our family through IVF. If you are interested in knowing what the money would be spent on, click the link https://www.londonwomensclinic.com/fertility-treatments/ivf/?

Question

I'd like to drive, is there parking?

Answer

There are very few spaces reserved for guests with mobility issues. Taxis can drop guests off at the venue's entrance they just have to approach with their hazards on and stick to the 9 mph speed limit. If you have mobility issues, and would like a parking space, please just let us know.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

No, we want you to be confident in your wedding attire. However, you may wish to avoid dark green, rust and white so you do not blend in with the wedding party. We are having a celidh in the evening so this may affect your footwear choices.

Question

Is the ceremony and reception in the same place?

Answer

Yes, we will be married in the Grand Hall and there will be a turnaround for the evening. There is a reception and lounge / bar area as well.

Question

Are there places to stay near the venue?

Answer

Yes, there are city centre hotels but also ones in Jesmond and Gosforth too. See our travel page for more recommendations.

Question

What is a celidh?

Answer

Ceilidh (pronounced "kay-lee") dancing is a lively, social, and inclusive tradition that brings people together through music, movement, and fun. Rooted in Scottish and Irish heritage, ceilidhs feature energetic group dances, all guided by a caller who explains the steps, so no prior experience is needed! Whether you’re twirling with a partner or joining a huge circle of dancers, a ceilidh is all about connection, laughter, and pure joy.
