Yes! This is a celebration of family and if you are invited, it means your kids are just as important to our kids, as well. Just be sure to RSVP accordingly with the correct number (& names) of who will be joining us, as we will have a seating chart and likely a separate kids table. We completely understand if you want to have a mom and dad only date night out, too. Truly. We welcome either decision you make to celebrate with us! There will be a kids version meal provided rather than the standard coursed dinner offering, so please do let us know of their food allergies or dietary restrictions in advance.
If we haven't discussed this with you or do not have an additional name on your wedding invitation, unfortunately, the answer is 'no.' This is an extremely intimate celebration with our nearest and dearest, so we appreciate your understanding.
The dress code is cocktail attire. Ladies are encouraged to wear cocktail dresses, and gentlemen can wear suits or sport coats with dress pants. Canlis, the venue, is first and foremost a fine dining establishment in Seattle and in accordance to their policy, men must wear a jacket. We love dressing up, make this an excuse to dress to celebrate!
Valet is the only option for parking at the venue, which we will cover. However, we highly recommend using a ride share service (Uber, Lyft, etc) if you plan on thoroughly enjoying the elegant celebration with ‘extra’ bubbly.
Yes, we are happy to accommodate most food allergies and dietary restrictions. Please ensure you let us know in advance in your RSVP response as we must let our venue know as they will be composing a seasonal menu for our 4-course sit down dinner service a month prior to the event. This goes for all guests, including the little ones.
Yes and no. Yes, we will have a formalized ceremony to kick off the evening, however, we will not be penciling in the usual formalities like a bouquet toss, dances with parents, open dance floor, or welcome toasts—as much as we like getting down at weddings, the venue is not outfitted for your killer dance moves! We simply want to enjoy celebrating over food and libations with our family and close friends. But of course, there will be cake.
