Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We have only sent out save the dates at this time. We have not sent out invitations. Please submit your RSVP as soon as you can make plans to attend. If you can not attend, please also submit your RSVP as a non-attending party. This will help our wedding planner and really help us dial our guest list number:)

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence on our big day is the best wedding present! If you can not make it or have other plans, we also understand life happens! If you want to leave a donation towards our honeymoon, you’re welcome to visit the “registry” tab on this website to make a donation!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please make sure you have submitted your RSVP with your guests’ name. After we submit our final guest count, changes will be very difficult for the venue, kitchen and staff to accommodate.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love kids, we will only allow immediate family of the wedding parties to have children in attendance. Newborns and babies are the exception, as we realize it is extremely tough to find reasonable child care at this age.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

The wedding venue is The Lions Square Lodge, Vail CO . The hotel does not offer room blocks, but does offer a 10% discount on with a 2 night stay minimum. Guests can call 850-466-8882 to reach out the reservations team. Please identify yourself as a guest of the "Atkins/Mahon Wedding Party" with a Group ID: COVAGRP2159 when calling to ensure you receive the percentage off discounted rates. If you need help or have further lodging questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us for other recommendations! Other options include Airbnb or stay at neighboring hotel that we have listed in the "Travel" section.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

If you are staying at the venue, you are welcome to park at The Lions Square Lodge. If you are not lodging there, please check with the hotel you are staying with for a shuttle throughout Vail. If you are driving over for the evening, ceremony and events, you are welcome to park at the Lionshead Parking Structure located in Lionshead. This is a short 5-10 minute walk from the base of the Lionshead Gondola and our wedding venue!

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

If you are staying in Vail, there is a Vail bus system that runs all throughout Vail. There is a bus that runs from East Vail to Vail to West Vail. There also is a Town of Vail bus system that runs throughout the three villages, Lionshead, Vail Village and Golden Peak. There are is also Uber and Lyft accessible around the Vail area. If you are commuting from Summit County or Denver, you will need to plan your own transportation to and from the Lions Square Lodge.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the ceremony (4:00PM). We ask that you are kindly seated when the wedding staff and planners ask you to take your seat. If you would like to help yourself to the bar or a cocktail prior to the ceremony, the bar should be open for your enjoyment!

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While we can't predict the exact forecast for our special day, please bring a jacket for the evening. We would suggest warmer attire throughout the night. The daytime is gorgeous, but still fall weather in the mountains! Please check the weather before packing. It can be chilly in the Rocky Mountains this time of year!

Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Answer

Your presence is present enough, but should you wish to bring a gift to our wedding, there will be a gift table for your convenience.

When will the reception end? Will there be an after-party

Answer

Our ceremony will end around 4:45pm and dinner will end around 7:30-8:00pm. We will then proceed to the cake cutting and desert room balcony overlooking the lawn. A band will follow shortly after on the lawn if you want to continue the party!

Will the ceremony be inside or outside?

Answer

We will have our ceremony outside on the lawn at Lions Square Lodge. We will be serving a plated dinner indoors. The after party will be option for your viewing on the balcony or dancing outdoors on the lawn with us! Please bring a jacket for the later evening events! It gets chilly and you’re around 9,000 feet!

How far is Vail from Denver?

Answer

Vail is approximately 115 miles from the Denver International Airport (DIA). This is about a 2 -2.5 hour drive from the airport. Please plan accordingly. We urge you to rent a car to have flexibility to explore and really enjoy yourself while being in beautiful Colorado! If you would like to shuttle to and from Denver International Airport or Eagle County Regional Airport - there are several shuttle companies! Eagle Airport is around a 35 minute drive to Vail.

What airport should I fly into to get to Vail?

Answer

You have two options that are feasible to get to Vail, Colorado. We believe for most Denver will be the most affordable option! 1. Denver International Airport (DIA) 115 miles away around 2-2.5hr drive 2. Eagle County Regional Airport - 35 miles away from Vail
