
Helen first met David as a Chinese teacher when he was serving as a diplomat at the US consulate in Guangzhou, China on July 7th, 2015. Helen fell in love with David on the first sight.

They became friends and chatted on social media sometimes. Helen sent David a postcard when she climbed to Mt. Everest and wrote: The world is so beautiful, I would like to share it with you.

They started to talk more in January 2016 when David was working in Washington, DC and Helen was in Guangzhou, despite a 12 hour time difference.

They decided to have a serious relationship after talking for a month, including talks about the future.

Helen flew to the US to date David for the first time, and celebrate David's birthday. She stayed in Reno for a week and met his family. They decided to move in together.

They talked about the future while they stayed together for the first time as a couple. David asked Helen to move to the US. Helen applied to study at UNR after she went back to China.

David flew to China to meet Helen's family and brought Helen to the US. Helen left her life in China behind and moved to her new life with David.

David paid Helen's tuition and took very good care of her when she just moved to the US. He also drove Helen to school and picked her up every single day for a year when Helen didn't have a driver's license.

David and his father Stephen went to Helen's graduation ceremony. David's parents had a great relationship with Helen.

They visited David's grandparents in West Palm Beach, Florida in the summer of 2017. David proposed to Helen and they got engaged after a year when Helen finished school.

They got legally married in Reno on June 20th, 2017. David's father and friend Debbie were the witnesses.

Helen's parents threw a big traditional Chinese wedding for them with over 100 guests on February 20th, 2018 in Helen's hometown in Hunan.

There were 15 friends of David's who flew to Hunan to celebrate David and Helen's Chinese wedding.

Helen started a business offering Chinese classes in Reno in 2017. David supported her by driving her to the schools, getting her access to locations, and helping with her events.

They celebrated every Jewish holiday with David's family. Helen started to take conversion classes at Temple Emanu-El, studying Judaism.

They visited the grandparents in West Palm Beach, Florida every year. David and Helen have a very close relationship with them.

They always celebrated Christmas with David's Mom and siblings in Reno.

David is the favorite person of Helen's parents. He communicates with them in Chinese and learns their culture and dialect.

They always have great time dressing up for Halloween and celebrating holidays together at their dear friend Max's parties.

They love traveling and culture. They went to Hawaii, New York City, Ohio, Japan......

David bought a business in San Diego and moved in March 2020. They supported each other during the pandemic. Helen fed David a lot of tasty food every day. They drove to some national parks in 2020.

Helen converted to Judiasm and had the Bet Din on Zoom in 2021. David helped her do the mikveh in the Pacific Ocean.

They made friends and made a life in Southern California in 2021. They spent less time together because their businesses were busier and busier. But they are still madly in love.

They love Disney and had a good time for their fifth anniversary.

Helen became a US citizen in 2022. This was the third promise after getting married and converting to Judiasm that they made the first month of their relationship back in 2016. Dreams come true.

Helen loves Jewish holidays and always prepares Hanukkah, Passover....

Helen gives David nice birthdays every year. They enjoyed the beautiful San Diego, and decided to have a future here.

Helen supports David's business and helped with conventions. David loves anime, and Helen loves to cosplay anime girls.

They have been legally married for 6.5 years so far, and they still want to spend their lives together. They decided to get married religiously on December 3rd, 2023.
