Maddy met Jack when she joined Kappa Eta Kappa, UW-Madison's co-ed engineering fraternity. The club's many meetings, events, & parties gave her plenty of excuses to see the cute boy she was quickly developing a massive crush on.
Jack decided Maddy's move to Washington DC for work was not going to interfere with their new relationship. Daily phone calls & monthly trips helped the couple continue to grow stronger.
Maddy decided to extend her visit to Jack by "a few days" after being told to work from home due to concerns for an upcoming new virus: Corona. Her carry-on suitcase was ill-prepared for the 2 month lockdown & they quickly learned the meaning of what's mine is your's.
Surviving the extremes of long-distance & lock-in, Jack moved out to DC with Maddy. Along with exploring the many attractions of the city, they developed a love for trying every restaurant in the neighborhood in search of the best happy hour deal.
After Maddy unfairly had to work late on her birthday, Jack took her out for a quick bowl of ramen at their favorite local place. When they returned home, Jack gave her the best possible present by finally asking the big question
