Taylor & Morgan first met on Halloween of 2012. It was their freshman year of college at The University of West Florida, (GO ARGOS!) Morgan and some close girlfriends lived in the Martin Hall dorms. They invited Morgan to a pregame get-together at Heritage Hall dorms of some close friends of theirs. Dressed up as a cowgirl, Morgan and her girlfriends walked over to Heritage Hall and ended up at this pre-game with a group of guys she had never met; one of them being Taylor “Heinz,” being 6 foot 7, & dressed up in his high school basketball uniform as his chosen costume for the evening. To say Taylor and Morgan remember the rest of that night would be a lie, but what they do know is, that it was a fun-filled night with friends that, didn't know at the time, had introduced two people that would later fall in love. Taylor and Morgan were exclusively friends with close acquaintances throughout their entire college careers. They would find themselves eating together with friends at The Galley from time to time, being at the same house party, or crossing paths at Seville or O'Riley's downtown. Other than that, just being mutual friends on social media was the extent of their friendship. That is, until 9 years later, in the fall of 2021. After graduating, Taylor got a job and moved to Morgan's hometown, Jacksonville, Florida. In the summer of 2021, Morgan moved back home to Jacksonville. Neither Taylor nor Morgan knew, at the time; they were now living less than 5 minutes from one another. Remember earlier in their story when Taylor & Morgan met for the first time and it was Halloween weekend? Well, believe it or not, 9 years later, it was almost like it was happening all over again. That Halloween, in 2021, Morgan was visiting a best friend & her family. While there, and after much convincing (& adult beverages) Morgan was persuaded into downloading a dating app, (thank you Hinge.) After only a few minutes of being on the app, a very familiar face popped up on her screen; "Heinz!?" Hesitant to even be on this app, let alone starting to date again, there was something about seeing his face (and let's be honest, that handsome beard,) that was relieving in a way, & without any deliberation, pressed the heart. About a day later, Taylor decided to check in on the Hinge app. Just as Morgan experienced, he had a notification of a like from a familiar face that he had not seen or talked to in quite some time. Without hesitation or the need for small talk, he "heart” her back and sent Morgan a message asking to take her out for dinner. A few days pass, date night arrives, and the rest is history. All it took was delicious sushi, learning to play Shut The Box at The Baby Bar, & Morgan being introduced to High Noons. Taylor and Morgan spent hours (and hours) that night catching up on all of the last 9 years of their lives. To say it was the best first date of their lives was an understatement; it was the beginning of forever. Six months into their relationship, Taylor received a job promotion that meant a relocation to Houston. They say when you know, you know; Taylor & Morgan knew. Taylor accepted, hung up the phone, and asked, “wanna move to Texas?” In the summer of 2022, they said goodbye to the Sunshine State & hello to the Lonestar State. In March of 2024, Taylor took Morgan on vacation to Cancun, Mexico. Although the conversation of engagement & marriage had come up from time to time, Taylor did a great job of planting the idea in Morgan's head that it would most likely happen back home in Florida. And, he did a great job, because she was clueless. On March 13th, Taylor told Morgan that he had reserved a romantic dinner on the beach... there was no dinner. On the beautiful beaches of Mexico, Taylor got down on one knee, Morgan finally remembered to say YES after she gathered herself and her emotions, and it then became the most incredible & memorable moment of their entire lives. That is, until they say I DO, and they cannot wait!
