Michelle was in her fifth year at UT Austin when she decided, on a whim, to download the Hinge dating app. She matched with a cute, blonde-haired, blue-eyed boy named Michael, who was from Houston, Texas, but living in Austin at the time. Michelle and Michael agreed to go on a date at The Tavern—a hole-in-the-wall bar in Austin. Before the date, Michael texted Michelle, “We have a problem…” Their plan had been to watch the Houston Astros World Series game, but all the TVs at The Tavern were broken. Their date was quickly relocated to a spot Michelle knew well: Pluckers in West Campus. Two months after their first date, they decided to make things official, and the rest was history.
