WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

We grew up in loving, Christian families and spent a lot of our childhoods in Calvary Chapel 's ministry- Jenni in Philadelphia, PA and Jake in Mercer County, NJ. Our parents sent us to Calvary Christian Academy in elementary school. Despite the small size, it took until our junior year of high school to become friends and our senior year we began dating!

Most of our dating life has been with miles in between us. After graduation, Jake went to Liberty University in Virginia and Jenni stayed in the Philadelphia area. His sophomore year, he enlisted in the Army National Guard and spent a semester in training with minimal communication between us. Soon after he was home, Jenni moved to State College, PA for three years to finish her degree. While being apart, we learned to value the precious time that we have together and we are so excited to be this much closer to spending the rest of our lives together.

Jake had planned the proposal to fall on Jenni's 21st birthday weekend, but like most things in 2020, COVID ruined his plans. So he improvised and it turned out beautifully. Jenni received a phone call from two of her close friends, that were in on the surprise. They told her they were an hour away from her house and to get ready for a photoshoot in Penn State's arboretum, her favorite spot. Little did she know, Jake was setting up a romantic setup to propose. The girls directed Jenni over to the flower garden with candles leading to the arbor where Jake was waiting for her.
