Things To Do

We're excited for all of you to have an excuse to explore the Crescent City! While others eat to live, in New Orleans, we live to eat! Most of these recommendations involve food, so dig in!

Café Du Monde

800 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

The bride recommends a frozen café au lait and an order of beignets!

Commander's Palace

1403 Washington Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130

We went here for our first date! The BEST restaurant in the city, but often requires reservations. Turtle soup!

Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop Bar

941 Bourbon Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

Believed to be the oldest structure used as a bar in the United States, built between 1722 and 1732. Order the "Purple Drank" (Voodoo Daiquiri).

Parkway Bakery & Tavern

538 Hagan Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119

Some of the best po' boy's around... order a "peacemaker" -- fried shrimp and fried oysters, or a roast beef po' boy with gravy. Mmmmmm...

Port of Call

838 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70116

"The Best Burger In New Orleans"... and they're not lying! Add a loaded baked potato, a root beer, and get ready for a nap!

Antoine's Restaurant

713 Saint Louis Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

New Orleans' oldest restaurant (~1840) with world-renowned French-Creole cuisine.

Mardi Gras World

1380 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans, LA 70130

Take a tour and get a behind-the-scenes look at the history of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Here, artists work year-round to build floats and props for each Mardi Gras season.

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

New Orleans designed and constructed the "Higgins Boats" used during D-Day, and the National WWII Museum is located in downtown New Orleans because of it. This museum is incredible and definitely worth a trip!
