October 18, 2025

Bellefontaine, OH

How They Met

2014

Before they ever dated, they worked together as zipline guides. Both Heidi and Tyler loved being outside, working in nature and hanging out up in the trees. This is where the nickname #TeamTeidi came from. They worked together well but they kept it professional.

Skydiving

2015

In the summer of 2015, Heidi had the desire to go skydiving. She happened to mention this to Tyler while they were working together, and they ended up organizing a skydiving trip together. That was the first time they did anything outside of work and they became better friends after that.

Doggy Dates

September, 2016

In the summer of 2016, both Heidi and Tyler ended up moving, and just happened to find themselves living 5 minutes away from each other. They decided their dogs were lonely and should definitely hang out. so they met up at a nearby park with their pups and well, the rest is history! After a couple months of dating they went on their first trip together- a long weekend in Cleveland to see a couple bands they liked. Soon after, Tyler told her he loved her, and she felt the same.

Moving In

2017

After a year of dating and adventuring together, Heidi (and her dog Max) moved in with Tyler (and his dog Lucy.) They lived right by a park and took their dogs there often. They went on many adventures in 2017: Asheville, NC for Valentine's day weekend, Bonita Springs, FL with Tyler's family in the Spring, NYC for Labor Day weekend, and they welcomed in 2018 while exploring Northern Cali.

Three's Company

2018

One day Tyler's friend called him up and needed a place to stay. He ended up moving in and living with them for several years. He was a great roommate and friend, fulfilling the job of live-in dogsitter, allowing Tyler and Heidi to explore the world and go on many fun adventures together! Trips of 2018 included: Asheville, NC again in the Summer and their first trip to San Diego, CA over New Years. While they were there they drove down to Tijuana, Mexico. That was quite the adventure!

The Joy's of Home Ownership

2019

During the Summer of 2019, Tyler and Heidi bought their first home together. The new house had much more room for Tyler, Heidi, their roommate and their dogs to spread out. Their 2019 vacations included Miami, FL and the Florida Keys around Memorial Day and their annual trip to Asheville, NC in the Summer.

Laying Low

2020

In February of 2020, Tyler and Heidi went on a trip to Cancun, Mexico. It was a wonderful, well-timed visit to their first all inclusive resort. On the way home they started seeing signs in the airport about something called 'corona virus.' A few weeks later when the pandemic hit and everything shut down, they were grateful they had a bigger house to hunker down in. They weren't sure if they'd be able to go on any more adventures that year, but fortunately they were able to go on their annual trip to Asheville, NC later in the summer.

Adventures by the Water

2021

The pandemic didn't put a damper on Tyler and Heidi's adventures for long. Along the way Tyler had accumulated a couple of kayaks, so they started kayaking more, and took their water-dog Lucy with them. She couldn't get enough! In the Spring, Tyler and Heidi visited Fort Lauderdale, FL, in the Summer they went on their annual trip to Asheville, NC, and in the Fall they got away for a weekend to Lakeside Marblehead, a town on Lake Erie near Sandusky. They stayed in a houseboat and went kayaking there as well! Early on in December they took a few days to go see a few their favorite bands, who happened to be playing in Tampa, FL. They enjoyed the show but their favorite memory from that trip was kayaking in the Clearwater Bay with wild dolphins popping up around them!

First Balloon Ride

2022

In the Spring of 2022 Tyler and Heidi went on their second trip to San Diego, CA. It ended up being one of their favorite vacations, with a hot air balloon ride over beautiful vineyards as the highlight. In June they took their annual trip to Asheville, NC and in the Fall they were able to sneak away to Yellow Springs, OH for Heidi's birthday weekend. They welcomed the New Year in while on a beach in Jamaica, eating lobster and sending off wishes in paper lanterns.

Big Changes

2023

At the beginning of the year Tyler and Heidi's roommate moved out and they found out both Lucy and Max had cancer. In the Spring, they took them on a 'Make-a-Wish' adventure to Virginia beach. They said goodbye to Lucy in the Summer, meanwhile, Tyler quit his day job to start his own hvac business, and Heidi accepted a job teaching high school art at Bellefontaine City Schools. They decided to buy a camper and kept it on Mad River Mountain, 15 minutes from Heidi's new place of work. This made Heidi's commute bearable and her weekday evenings peaceful and nature-filled. In the Fall, Tyler took Heidi for a hot air balloon ride for her birthday and proposed! In December, they bought their second home together, slightly closer to Heidi's school and in a better neighborhood with a park right around the corner. They took their annual trip to Asheville, NC over Thanksgiving that year.

New Fur Baby

2024

At the 14 years old, they finally said good bye to Max in January of 2024. After several quiet months of just the two of them, Tyler and Heidi met Rex, a sweet, goofy pittie. They fell in love and he's been part of their family ever since. They also bought a second property: a campsite for their camper on Mad River Mountain. Tyler maintains the camper to make it livable during all seasons and he and Rex often visit during the week. Tyler and Heidi enjoy the perks of having a second 'home' on a ski resort and ski weekly throughout the ski season. In the summer they visited Sawyer, MI and enjoyed the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan.

The Next Chapter

October 18, 2025- Forever

In the Spring, Tyler and Heidi checked a trip to Colorado off their bucket list and in the Summer, they made another trip to Sawyer, MI to enjoy the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan, but this time they took Rex! After many years of fielding questions about when they will get married, Tyler and Heidi decided the time has come to officially start calling each other husband and wife. They are excited to see all the adventures that their future holds. Here's to their next chapter!
