Here is a place in the center of Edinburgh where cars (including electric ones) can be hired. However, Edinburgh is a tough city to drive in. You will find it very difficult and expensive to park, too. Unless you plan to travel out of the city regularly, I'd recommend sticking to buses, trams or Uber.
