Heidi's favorite (and only) sister: Liesel brings the laughs, spontaneity, adventure, and good cheer. Liesel has been Heidi's steadfast supporter-- whether it was being dragged along in the car to Heidi's sport practices & riding lessons, or, more willingly, showing up for Royal Henley with a fascinator or South Korea for World Championships; planning 31-mile White Mountain hiking adventures or skis down mountains in -13 below temperatures; and being an eager co-consumer of the household ice cream and chocolate. Liesel, I forgive you for all the clothes you've snuck from my closet, for you are the kindest, most-loving sister, a terrific listener, and I love you oodles.

Heidi's cousin: Californian cousin Katharine and Heidi spent many childhood summer days in their birthday suits in the pool when visiting the Californian grandparents, conducting dance routines to the Spice Girls, and running around in hula skirts. Despite the geographic distance (somewhat lessened when both attended East Coast colleges-—Go Tigers!, Go Bears!— and rowed and played water polo), they have stayed close, sharing and comparing their love of travel, outdoor adventure, and athletics. Katharine is the consummate listener, advice-giver, and planner. Here's to more hula skirts and maybe birthday suit swims ahead;) xoxo
