Charlie and Heidi met online, on Plenty of Fish, to be more specific! After GPS taking Charlie on a wild hunt to find Heidi's apartment, they went on their first date in downtown Chicago. They hit it off quickly and the rest is history, leaving two less fish in the sea.
The proposal happened the day after Heidi returned from Memphis, TN, where she was finishing her last externship for her optometry program. Charlie had purchased a condo in Pewaukee, WI, where Heidi and Charlie were going to move in together. Halfway through moving things into the condo and starting to unpack, they went for a walk down by Pewaukee Lake which is about one block from the condo. While standing on the pier and talking about all the big changes in life, Charlie got down on one knee and asked Heidi to marry him - and of course she said yes!
Charlie and Heidi chose September 19 as their wedding date, which coincides with Charlie's grandparents wedding anniversary. Despite COVID-19, it was important that the wedding date remained the same as a way to honor his grandparents and to follow through with our commitment to marriage. We had a small, intimate ceremony with family at Blue Collar Coffee in Delafield, WI.
We will be having a ceremony and full reception to celebrate our marriage with all of our family and friends!
