Chester Park

Start your hike at the trailhead across from Burrito Union to enjoy a 2.5 mile loop of scenic waterfalls. There are multiple bridges along the loop that allow you to turn around earlier if you prefer a shorter hike!

Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory

October is great for viewing migration of bald and golden eagles, rough-legged hawks, red-tailed hawks and northern goshawks. Naturalist staff & volunteers are on site daily from 9am-4pm in October. Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve also has 4 miles of rugged hiking trails. There is no building at Hawk Ridge but a portable toilet is available during the fall season.

Park Point Recreation Area

Cross the lift bridge in Canal Park to experience the world's longest freshwater sandbar. Park anywhere along the 7-mile stretch and walk on the sand beach. Be sure to bring warm clothes!
