We first met in High School where we both were involved in the throwing events for track. Although we knew of each other, we did not talk much and only hung out when all the throwers got together. Fast forward a couple years and we were both in Watertown for the summer. Through mutual friends we started hanging out frequently and it turned into something more than friendship. Although people thought it was just “a summer fling”, we proved them wrong and as the saying goes...the rest is history.

On a trip to Florida with the VanLaecken family, we were able to go to many different places. Allison is a huge Harry Potter fan, and she was extremely excited for Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. The family decided to go there on the Saturday of our trip. Fun fact on the way to Universal Studios, Allison actually checked Marcus’ pockets for an engagement ring (apparently she won't let anything be a surprise). The box was not there, so she believed that it was not going to happen here after all. Little did she know, Marcus was hiding the ring in Jennifer’s camera bag. As the family was taking pictures on the bridge at Harry Potter world, Marcus got down on one knee and said, "will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?’. Of course, Allison said yes, and they were able to celebrate with her family that night! We are so excited to finally be married and to celebrate with all of our loved ones! We can’t wait to see you all on December 27th!
