We met at Uptown Tavern Bar in Minneapolis, MN on April 2018. After we met, Taylor remembered seeing me on a dating app and sent me a sweet message and his phone number on LinkedIn. I texted him and we went on our first date to World Street Kitchen in Minneapolis, MN.
We went on a family vacation with both of our families in March 2023. Taylor and I wanted a challenge and some beautiful Arizona scenery so we decided to go on a long hike (7 miles, we went the wrong way for a little bit so we had to get back on the path we were planning to do) together on Elephant Mountain. As we were getting closer to the top I was starting to get hungry and I asked him a few times if we could pause and eat our PB sandwiches that we packed in our backpacks. He suggested we keep going because we were almost there so I stayed quiet and grumpily was hiking up behind him. When we got to the top I sat down right away and started eating my sandwich. He knew I would be a much happier person if I ate first before he proposed. After we eat and felt more refreshed we took a selfie. Next, Taylor got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was surprised, happy, and crying. It meant a lot that he proposed doing something that we fell in love together doing, hiking.
When we thought about where we wanted to get married we envisioned a destination wedding where we created memories together. Over the past few years, we have enjoyed traveling to Arizona to visit family, tackle some beautiful and challenging hikes, enjoy new food, and the beautiful weather. After he proposed, we were thinking where should we get married. Arizona felt like the perfect location to celebrate with all of our family and friends.
