Question

How to get to Savannah?

Answer

Westcoast/Mexico Familia - Hilton Head/Savannah airport is your best bet. It's about a 20-30 min drive to the city center. It also helps that the airport is cute in size and easy to get in and out. Southeast Familia - Buckle up and start your engines!! A quick 4 hour drive from both Charlotte and Atlanta.

Question

Where to stay?

Answer

It's preferred if you get an Airbnb in the south historic district as it allows you freedom to maneuver without a vehicle. This way you are in striking distance to all of downtown, river street and the starland yard district. There are hotel options in the downtown area; closer to the river will be the name brand hotels (Hilton, Marriot, Holiday inn for us poor folk). If you got money like that then Hotel Bardo will be a prime location.

Question

Where to park?

Answer

Parking around the park is extremely recommended. Pay attention to parking signs!! North of Gaston street (towards river street) the parking is regulated and you may have to pay. South of Gaston street (around Forsyth Park) is preferred for parking and free to the public. Keep an eye out on street sweeping signs/schedule as they sweep Monday-Friday whether your car is there or not and will likely incur a fine.

Question

What do I do if I bring my kids?

Answer

Ceremony/Reception – Y’all know we love your little ones, so of course they’re invited. We’re trusting our parent friends to keep an eye on them throughout the wedding day. If anyone gets a little antsy during the ceremony, there’s a nearby playground for a quick break. Since we’ll have videography, we just ask that everyone keep them close by during the first dance. Weekend - This is a chance to enjoy the walks in the squares and take the occasional break at a ice cream shop. The city is filled with 22 beautiful squares! Other options include trolley, ghost, boat, and walking tours, a visit to Tybee Island, large playground at Forsyth Park, and the Children's museum in downtown to list a few.

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

October 2025 was a beautiful high of 70s and low of 60s and we are hoping for similar weather this year in 2026. Prime weather for a Mexican wedding.

Question

What to wear?

Answer

Semi-formal/cocktail attire Men: no jeans, no shorts, definitely no cargo, button up shirt is preferred, blazer optional. bring sexy back. Women: It's between you and God. Bridesmaids will be wearing certain shades of green if you prefer to not blend in. Reminders: -The ceremony will be held outdoors on grass and will include a light walk (paved) of less than half a mile to the indoor reception. -If you plan to explore the city for the remainder of the weekend, we suggest you bring walking shoes and be prepared to trip on the uneven sidewalks/cobblestone.
