After hiking 18 miles through the breathtaking Patagonia mountains, we finally reached a serene, empty lake—still and peaceful, just like the moment that followed. We had been capturing memories along the way, so when it was suggested that we take a quick photo at the lake, there wasn’t a second thought about it. Ultimately, he was planning something much more meaningful. As we turned to smile for the picture, he dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring.
