We’re getting married!

Running late in holiday traffic, wiggling through the crowd to get to the rink. We're surrounded by skaters, giggling, goofing as we normally would on a date. Then Rockefeller announces that it's time to clear the rink to add new ice. Everyone's skating off but Phil asks a worker, "is it all right if we get a picture?" He's so nice & says he'll take a few. A few become many and we're the last ones on the rink. I turn to Phil nervously and say, "Babe, are you sure we shouldn't get off? We're last." The over thinker in me is thinking we're about to get in trouble or kicked off, but the worker keeps snapping away so we keep laughing & posing. Then the lights shine right on us & I start hearing my all time favorite song. Phil pulls me in and I already see tears pouring down his face, body slightly shaking (from the cold? I'm not sure). "And it was, enchanting to meet you..." plays so loudly as I look around at the thousands of people surrounding the rink. Phil points over & the biggest signs appear spelling, "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" I'm so far in the middle, I don't even realize till after, it's my SC fam/friends & NYC loved ones holding each of the letters! Then Phil says the most thoughtful, heartbreaking, heart healing speech that I'll remember forever, holds my hands and pauses saying "Babe, I'm going to need your help getting down." I'm laughing so hard at this point because we both are not very good ice skaters and mind blown that neither of us have slipped today. Then. He gets down on one knee, opens a blue box & shows me the biggest, shiniest dream ring | feel I've ever laid my real eyes on & says "Will you marry me?" I don't think he even gets to the "marry me" part before I scream from my diaphragm a huge "YESSS!!" My whole heart feels like it's bursting & the room feels like it's raining and exploding all at the same time. The crowd echos in applause and the peak of Taylor Swift's Enchanted hits. The timing was unreal. "This night is sparkling, don't you let go, I'm wonderstruck, blushing all the way home. I've spent forever wondering if you knew, I was enchanted to meet you" I feel our lips crash into each other & I flick my leg up like a Disney princess 😍♥️🙏🏼💍
