South Mountain Creamery
This is one of our favorite spots located in our local town, where they offer locally made ice cream and cheese. As well they offer free calf feedings at 4:00 pm every day. They also have a location in downtown Frederick which will be listed further down.
Stone Werks Coffee + Sweets
Oliver's brother owns and operates this coffee shop with his wife. They have great coffee and treats. Heather's personal favorite breakfast item is the scones, while Oliver's is the cinnamon rolls. They also have lovely cupcakes, which will also be served at our wedding. It is a little bit of a drive from Frederick but well worth it.
Downtown Frederick
Downtown Frederick has a lot to offer. It has niche little shops, delicious restaurants, and many different bars. Our favorite places downtown is Lazyfish (a small sushi restaurant), Perfect Truffle (a gourmet chocolate truffle shop), Brewer's Alley (a bar and restaurant), and South Mountain Creamery's second location (unfortunately, there are no cows at this one, just milkshakes, ice cream, and pizza).
Harpers Ferry
This is also a little drive, but well worth it. Harper's Ferry is located in West Virginia, just past the Maryland state line. It is a beautiful town with a short but fun hiking trail leading to the top of the gorge containing the Potomac river. If it is warm enough, river tubing is also an option on the river.
