We’re getting married!

Yes, that’s right! We met on Mutual, the LDS dating app! He swiped up and, in his words, “because Heather looked cute, fun, and adventurous”. I swiped up because Nate had a cute smile. He reached out to me first, and immediately I was impressed because he didn’t want to text me, he actually wanted to have a conversation! On day two he asked if we could have a phone call…which went very well. Only a few short days later we had our first FaceTime call and I thought “I can’t wait to meet this guy in person!” He lived in Salt Lake and I lived in St George, but we didn’t give up! We started planning to meet up halfway and get some ice cream. Well, the stars aligned when my work suddenly announced I was to attend a conference in Salt Lake the next week. Nate was already on my mind, and the wheels started turning… I texted him later that night and said “I have some good news….” He called me and when I announced my business trip I could hear the smile in his voice it was so cute. He took me to a Peruvian restaurant for food and we had a blast talking. Afterwards, I asked “Well, should we do this again?” and he enthusiastically said “Yes!” We sacrificed a lot to date long distance the first few months of our relationship, but that made it even better.
