We met at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA in 2013. Naaman played on the football team and I was a student athletic trainer. Of course it was off limits for us to date the players, but of course I broke the rules! I had eyes for him the minute he took off his helmet and saw his big blue eyes and infectious smile. He always had everyone laughing and I just loved that about him. I of course told my friends (his teammates), that I wanted to talk to him. They told me that if I wanted it to happen, I would have to make the first move because he was too shy. I ended up getting his Snapchat username and sending him a random picture. He was so confused at first at how I got his information, but I secretly think he liked that I took the initiative to talk to him first. We talked for 6 months through that football season. The rest is history.
Naaman took me to Riley's Apple Farm in Yucaipa, CA to pick apples at the end of the season. This was a place he went to as a kid to pick apples with his mom and siblings. He had so many great memories there and had been telling me about it for 5 years, and we were finally able to go! I was so excited! While in the middle of the orchard, he told me that he was going to the car to grab me a coat because I was cold (he's so thoughtful), but he actually went to get the ring. He was so nervous, it was so cute. He got down on one knee and proposed between the trees of the orchard with the sweetest speech I had ever heard. Those words had me crying like a baby. Of course the answer was "YES!" We always knew what we had was forever, but that ring just made it that much more official. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Bass Lake!
