How We Met!

We Swiped Right!

Like many today, Heather and Matt met online through “Tinder”. They both were attracted to one another profile…it may have been Heather’s blunt comments in her profile or Matt’s obvious love of adventure, but they swiped right! They talked for a few weeks and when they finally met in person, they both knew there was something there. They had their first date at Yard House and spent the evening laughing and sharing stories until the restaurant closed. Matt left Heather hanging without ending the night with a kiss, but they were hungry for more time together. With their crazy travel schedules, they did not have their second date for another few weeks their excitement to meet again never faded. For their second date, they enjoyed a night of cocktails at Pie Society and from that moment on, they were inseparable! Throughout their 5 years together, they have shared many adventures like their first trip as a couple to Alaska to see the Northern Lights to their time running around France for two weeks. They share a love of cooking, traveling, wine, beer, and laughing until their cheeks hurt. Matt’s infectious laugh helps with that! They’ve shared many laughs, tears, perfect dinners and burnt pizzas together and they can’t wait to FINALLY start their next chapter as husband and wife.

How He Proposed!

That's What She Said!

Who didn’t ask Matt when he was going to propose?! The fact that this was kept a secret was the best part. 2020 came in like a wrecking ball and delayed the proposal, but Heather (im)patiently waited. Heather and Matt were quarantining in Paso Robles and he subliminally put this idea in her head for when they came back home. It had been a hot minute since they got dressed up and Matt wanted to wear his suit, so Heather suggested they do a date night in, dress fancy, and order take-out from one of their favorite spots. “Great idea!” says Matt and the idea was planted. That week, Matt thought Heather knew because she was getting her nails & hair done but NOPE! That morning, Heather went on a hike and came home to their porch set up like restaurant. You must be thinking, “Heather had to know then!” NOPE. Matt is a total romantic and has done this before. So, Heather continued to think “wot wot…another missed perfect opportunity!” Later in the evening, Heather and Matt were enjoying dinner on the porch Heather was eating ribs, something she hardly ever order, and had sauce on her hands. Matt freaked out because Heather wanted to wash her hands, but they were on a strict time limit. Crisis averted; hands were cleaned in time. Now for the best part! Those who have visited their home, know the GPS will take you to the wrong house so when Heather heard someone walking up their steps, she just assumed “wrong house!” It didn’t sink in until Matt stood up and asked her to dance while the duo sane sang “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.” Heather was in total shock. Matt got down on his knee and asked “will you spend the rest of your life making a billion more That’s What She Said jokes with me?!” Can you picture Heather speechless? Heather couldn’t make a peep so he asked again and, to true Heather fashion, a string of profanities with YES belted from her mouth! Matt pulled off the perfect, over the top, well thought-out proposal he wanted, and Heather dreamed of.
