Together is our favorite place to be

We started out as balancing partners in the University of Maryland's Gymkana troupe, until Markus was injured in a club gymnastics accident. Heather tried to keep in touch even though Markus was out for the season, until she was also injured during a Gymkana performance. We bonded over shared suffering and boredom during the winter break. The day before spring semester, we went on our first date to Blaze Pizza. Neither of us wanted the date to end, so we wandered around campus until we ended up in a practice room at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center, where we played piano for hours. Five years later, Markus proposed in that same practice room.
