Our Engagement Story
Louie proposed to Heather on September 7, 2024 — a deeply thoughtful date. He chose it because it was the day before Heather’s mom, Janet, passed away on September 8. Louie and Janet shared a close bond, and he wanted to be sure she could witness her daughter’s engagement.
That morning, Louie rented a beach wheelchair to take Janet to the exact spot where he planned to propose to Heather.
The Ring
The diamond in Heather’s ring has a beautiful history. It was first chosen by her dad, Hugh John, when he proposed to Janet. On Heather’s 18th birthday, Janet had it reset into a necklace as a special gift. When Louie began planning the proposal, he asked Janet for the necklace so the diamond could become a ring again.
This is the ring Heather and Louie will begin their married life with — one that carries the love of both her parents. She’ll always have a piece of her mom with her, especially on their wedding day.
