Bernard owns a Los Angeles based skate shop that sells Vans shoes and custom apparel. Kurt started shopping at “Hot Rod” personally and for work, and before you know it, the two of them became best friends. Bonding over cars, shoes, skateboarding, camping, you name it! Heather loves Bernard like a brother, the three of them have countless good times in the books!

James, Heather's younger brother moved out to California for a year, and lived with Kurt and Heather in Culver City. Kurt never had a brother, so he took this as an opportunity to make up for that. Kurt and James soon discovered they were kindred spirits. Young at heart, full of energy, always up for an adventure and a good laugh!
