FAQs

The Wedding Website of Heather Losee and Joshua Orzech
If you have any other questions other than what we posted here, feel free to reach out to Heather (315)561-6437 or Joshua (315)744-4034!
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

RSVP responses should be submitted as soon as you know whether you will be attending, but absolutely no later than September 5th. Feel free to RSVP by any means, including returning your RSVP card by mail and/or responding through our website!

Question

What happens if I do not submit an RSVP after receiving an invitation?

Answer

The bride and groom will be reaching out to all those invited but have not received RSVPs back. We want to be sure nobody is left out simply because it was lost in the mail or overlooked! Feel free to reach out if you want to be sure yours was received.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately no, we kindly ask that only those specifically listed on the envelope of your invitation are the ones coming to our wedding. While we wish we could accommodate additional attendees, we had to keep our guest list limited due to our venues' capacities. We hope you understand.

Question

Are children welcome to join us?

Answer

Yes! If we invited the "Family" on your invitation envelope, we are including everyone in your household/immediate family, and that means the kids too! We want to celebrate with kids of all ages, not just kids at heart.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! We are hoping to maintain a more elegant vibe at our wedding and hope to see everyone in their semi-formal attire. This means tuxedos and ball gowns, as well as suits and cocktail dresses. Please avoid wearing white. Casual clothes like denim and tees should be saved for another day please!

Question

What is the anticipated weather that time of year?

Answer

Weather can be very fickle, especially in the fall in northern New York! We are hoping for sunshine and 70 degrees, but anything goes, including rain or even the small chance of snow! Being on the water, you can anticipate wind anytime. Please be prepared for whatever Mother Nature provides for the day. Do note the ceremony will be outside no matter the weather. All other festivities for the weekend will take place indoors.

Question

Where is the ceremony, and how will I be able to get there?

Answer

The ceremony will be held outside of Boldt Castle on Heart Island. We have chartered a large boat to bring all guests from the Riveredge Resort across the river to the island. Guests can park for free at the Riveredge Resort and find the docks on the back of the building at the river. The boat leaves promptly at 1pm, so please plan to arrive early enough to park, walk to the back, and sign in at the boat. If you miss the charter, you can walk next door to the Uncle Sam Boat Tour and purchase a shuttle ticket to Boldt Castle. They provide shuttles every thirty minutes. The wedding ceremony will be held at the Dove-Cote at 2pm. It will be a bit of a walk to get to that part of the island. If you need assistance getting there, they will have golf cart shuttles available for those who request it. Once you arrive to the private gardens, feel free to sit on either side of the aisle!

Question

Can I take pictures or videos during the ceremony?

Answer

No, we kindly request you to respect the unplugged ceremony. Please ensure all cell phones are off and tucked away for our wedding ceremony. We want everyone to be present and in the moment without trying to capture this on their phones. We have an amazing photographer team and we will be sharing pictures with everyone. The bride especially does not want to see cell phones pointed at her when she comes down the aisle, she wants to see all those beautiful faces of her loved ones she invited to be part of this special moment!

Question

No pictures and videos at the ceremony... What about the reception?

Answer

Although we are having an unplugged ceremony, we are encouraging phones be used the rest of the day! You will find a QR code to scan and share all the pictures and videos you take. We want to see all the festivities from our guests point of view! From arriving to your hotel, to the welcome reception, the boat rides, farewell breakfast, and everything in between! We cannot wait to see all the fun everyone is having! We hope you share pictures of all the details, your views of the shenanigans, and most importantly, yourself! We think this is going to be a very special part of our wedding to have all those candid shots!

Question

Boldt Castle seems pretty interesting. Will I have time to check it out?

Answer

To truly see all of the castle and Heart Island takes about three hours. There is an amazing love story behind Boldt Castle and we highly recommend you learn about it so you can understand why we found it to be a romantic wedding ceremony location! The transportation provided for wedding guests will arrive at Heart Island around 1:30pm. There will not be much time to check things out since you will have to go through the admission booth (don't worry, your tickets are covered!) and make your way to the ceremony location. The ceremony is at 2pm. After the ceremony, guests are free to walk around the castle and rest of the grounds. The returning charter boat provided for wedding guests leaves at 3:30pm. If you wish to stay and continue enjoying the castle you absolutely can! Uncle Sam will allow for any guests to board one of their returning shuttle boats that depart every thirty minutes, free of charge. Do note, however, that this means you will be brought to their docks next door to Riveredge, not right at the resort. Additionally, you will also be missing cocktail hour happening from 4-5pm. If you would like to go ahead of time and see the castle and island prior to the wedding, you can catch an Uncle Sam shuttle boat from their docks for a $10 fee. The first boat departs at 10:30am and they run every thirty minutes. Please let Heather or Joshua know if you plan to do this so your Boldt Castle admission ticket can be provided to you!

Question

I am hungry, when will we eat?

Answer

We hope to have everyone fed and happy throughout the day! Please plan to have breakfast and lunch prior to arrival Saturday. On the Uncle Sam boat we will be providing small snacks and water. There will be no food or drinks at Boldt Castle so please feel free to bring those snacks and waters with you. Once you return to Riveredge Resort after the ceremony there will be hors d'oeuvres and an open bar for everyone's enjoyment during cocktail hour. After the transition into the reception hall we will have a few announcements and dances before dinner is served. As if all of this was not enough, we will also have desserts and even a late night snack! We promise if nothing else you will not go hungry while celebrating with Heather and Joshua!
