How We Met

My person

Mine and Brandon's story is a true fairytale to me. We met when we attended the same church and we were only toddlers. We attended the same elementary school as well. Brandon was in the fifth grade (I was in fourth) when he got me a pink heart shaped necklace and asked me to be his girlfriend all on Valentine's Day. Sounds silly... right? Well, I STILL have this necklace laying around somewhere in my closet. We were really young so of course that didn't last and wasn't as serious as it would've been if we were older. Throughout the rest of our school years, we dated other people but would still speak or wave if we seen each other. We've always been friends and have mutual friends. Shortly after I graduated college in September 2018, I posted a Snapchat story of the fans 'chopping' at the Atlanta Braves game (if you didn't know we are both OBSESSED with the Braves). Brandon messaged me and said "The real question is, why aren't you chopping?" We talked and hung out everyday for a month when he finally asked me to be his girlfriend. I truly couldn't imagine my life without Brandon, and I have no clue what I ever did without him. He is my favorite person and one I know I can always count on. I'm so thankful.

The Proposal

September 27, 2019

The day of the proposal is one I will never forget. Brandon has always kept me on my toes as to when he might pop the question, but I truly had no idea this was about to take place. What I thought was just a weekend trip to the beach with Brandon and his family turned into the best weekend of my life thus far. We got there late Thursday night and spent all day Friday on the beach. The plan that night was Brandon's mom was taking pictures of us on the beach at St Andrews Park. We took our first picture in front of a sailboat that was out in the ocean. We walk around to these big, pretty rocks and I see a beautiful set-up that says "MARRY ME" so I turn around and Brandon gets on one knee.. He was so nervous that he could barely talk, his voice was shaky and so was mine. I cried and said yes!! I hear people yelling and clapping so I turn around and he even had my family there along with his! This was really emotional for me and I am so happy he invited all of our favorite people to be there for this special time. Everything was so perfect, better than I could've ever imagined. We ended the night eating at our favorite restaurant, Triple J's with both of our families.
