What time should I arrive at the venue?

Answer

The ceremony will start promptly at 5pm, so please arrive by 4:45 to have enough time to get settled in your seats. You can arrive as early as 4:30pm.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Formal/semi-formal are encouraged. Feel free to dress in bright colors or florals!

Question

I have a food allergy or special dietary need, can it be accommodated?

Answer

Yes, if you need to let us know about a food allergy or special dietary need, please send an email to heather.blake.wedding@gmail.com with the guest's name and the allergy or need, so we can let our caterers know.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If a plus one has been allotted for you, you will see the option to RSVP for them when you do. If not, exceptions may be made at the bride and groom's discretion. Please email heather.blake.wedding@gmail.com if you'd like to request a plus one.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is plenty of parking at The Ashley Castle. If you stay at one of the hotels listed on the "Getting There & Staying Nearby" page, you might even be able to walk to the venue from there! If you plan on consuming alcohol, please make sure to have a designated driver or take an Uber/Lyft to and from the venue.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, they are listed on the "Getting There & Staying Nearby" page. The ones listed there are under 1 mile from The Ashley Castle, but if you'd like to stay elsewhere, then that works too! There are also sure to be plenty of AirBNBs nearby if that's more your speed.

Question

Is The Ashley Castle handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes, there is a ramp from the outdoor garden up to the level of the rest of the indoor space, which is all one level. Bathrooms also each have handicap accessibility.

Question

What kind of weather should I pack for? (For those new to AZ)

Answer

Phoenix-area weather in March typically ranges from 60-80 degrees F for high temperatures and 45-60 degrees F for low temperatures, with lots of sun and little to no rain. The dry desert climate can make it feel a few degrees cooler than it actually is, compared to more humid areas of the same temperatures. The wide range from low temps to high temps makes layering a necessity. Tip - also pack a reusable water bottle, or pick some disposable ones up when you arrive - it's easy to get dehydrated here. Please note that if you plan to do some additional sightseeing in northern parts of the state where the elevation is higher, the weather will be typical of most northern climates in March. On the day of our wedding, the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, and the reception indoors (with all outdoor areas still available). Unless we receive some rain, in which case everything will be primarily indoors.

Question

I have a question that isn't answered here, is there another way I can get it answered?

Answer

Yes, please send us an email at heather.blake.wedding@gmail.com if you have any additional questions. We will do our best to answer if we can.
