When should I RSVP by?

Question
Why doesn't my entire family show up when I try to RSVP?
Answer
Kids older than 12 are "adults" for counting purposes and will not show up under their parents' name on the RSVP page. They will need to RSVP under their own names.
Question
Are kids welcome?
Answer
We love your kids! They are welcome to come if you'd like to bring them. However, we think this will be a fun "parents' night out" and encourage you to take the night off if you can!

Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
We have arranged a courtesy hold at two nearby hotels, but we think Airbnb or vacation rentals are the best way to experience the city. Check the Travel page for details on hotel arrangements and the Things To Do page for a brief description of some San Diego neighborhoods if you want to go the Airbnb route.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
The ceremony will start promptly at 4:30. Please come with enough time to find a seat. If you are driving, please add extra time to find parking.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

All parking is public. Allow extra time to find parking. Please see the Travel page for more information.

Is Heather changing her name?
Answer
Nope! I'll be Dr. Osswald for the rest of my days.

What is a cocktail-style reception?
Answer
Don't worry, there will still be food! This just means that there won't be a specific dinner time where everyone is sitting and eating all together. Mix, mingle, eat when you want, but don't feel tied to a table all night. Just keep an eye out for a schedule posted at the reception that will tell you when the food stations close!

Can I take pictures?
Answer
We've hired a photographer. She is really great! We promise we'll share all her great shots. Please keep your phones put away for the ceremony and really enjoy the moment with us. At the reception, feel free to selfie and shoot to your heart's content. If you share to social media, use our hashtag so we can see them too! But please, do not get in the photographers way so she can really capture all the special moments. Like we said, she's really really great!

What's the San Diego weather like in October?
Answer
Average high is 74 F and average low is 61 F with mostly sunny days. Plan for layers - it gets breezy and chilly on the coast! We will be having an outdoor ceremony and an indoor-outdoor reception.
