We met freshman year of college, had a lot of mutual friends, but didn't think anything of it at the time. It wasn't until our junior year that we started to realize we were perfect for each other. Caleb and I started to spend more and more time together as the months went on and then on October 29th 2017 he asked my father permission to be my boyfriend because he was, and still is, extremely old fashioned. The rest was history and we both knew we had met our soulmate, forever and always.
We had been planning this trip for weeks and were extremely excited to get away from the hustle and bustle of college life, classes and tests. For the first time ever both of us would be spending thanksgiving together away from family, nestled away in the tiny town of Roan Mountain. For weeks Caleb had been prepping the proposal completely under my nose and was able to full on surprise me. Out of nowhere on the mountain I turned around to him on one knee asking me to marry him. I burst into tears and could not believe this was actually happening. Neither of us remembered what was exactly said because I was a ball of emotions and he was nervous, but one thing is for sure, I definitely said YES!
