First Fridays - The Crossroads

First Fridays - The Crossroads

We love to show off our city and encourage those of our out of town guests who can to come Friday evening and check out First Fridays in The Crossroads Arts District! The event features galleries and artist studios displaying exhibits from local, national, and international artists. Enjoy eclectic shops, art alleys, food truck plaza, as well as locally owned restaurants, local craft breweries, distilleries, and wineries.

Brewer's Alley

Brewer's Alley

18th & Oak St, Kansas City

There are several fun, local breweries and bars in the Crossroads. A few of our favorites are Casual Animal Brewing Co, Jim's, King G, Red Sash Brewing, and Double Shift Brewing Company!

River Market

River Market

20 East 5th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106

Grab a cup of coffee at the Made in KC Trolley or brunch at Brown & Loe before you wander through the Historic City Market featuring an eclectic mix of shops and boutiques open daily and a beautiful Farmers Market on the weekends! Afterwards, grab a beer at Strange Days Brewing Co. (one of our most frequented breweries) or River Bluff Brewing (one of the newer additions to the area)!

KC Streetcar

KC Streetcar

Main Street

If you're staying downtown, the Streetcar is one of the easiest ways to get around. Plus, it's free! There are stops every few blocks along Main Street. Hop on anywhere and it will take you as far south as Union Station or as far north as the River Market. Streetcars arrive every 10 minutes or so, and they run until 1am on the weekends.

Eat & Drink

One of our favorite hobbies is enjoying great local restaurants in our neighborhood! Here are a few of our favorites: Late night bites - Town Topic Hamburgers (Coach Andy Reid's favorite cheeseburger! Open 24/7 and located just a block from our venue), XR at Crossroads Hotel Brunch - Mildred's, Brown & Loe, The Farmhouse, Homesteader, Blvd Tavern, Streetcar Grille & Tavern, Tribe Street Kitchen Lunch/Dinner - Parlor (food hall w/ multiple options), Harry's Country Club (Our first date! Great patio), Kansas City Taco Company (gourmet tacos and the best margaritas), Il Lazzarone Pizza, Tribe Street Kitchen, Buffalo State Pizza Co, City Barrel Brewery + Kitchen, Blvd Tavern

Kansas City BBQ

It can't be a weekend in KC without some barbecue! While it's a hotly debated topic around here, our favorite is Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que (be prepared to wait in line if you plan to go to the original gas station Joe's). If you want a one of a kind BBQ experience, head to the West Bottoms and visit Chef J BBQ, but plan ahead and even get there early because there's always a line, they have very limited hours and may close early when the bbq runs out! Another not so traditional favorite is Night Goat Barbecue, but it's only open on Sunday. Runners up include Q39 (with shockingly good wings as well), Char Bar (great patio), and Jack Stack.
