Always make room for dessert!

Cheesecake Bites!

Heath's Story: I never knew how meeting someone who also enjoyed a yummy little dessert would very shortly change my whole life. Many people are able to find love with the aid of apps or through introductions by friends or associates. We met while doing service at a mid-single adult conference for the church we attend. We first met while setting up the registration table and preparing a space for a dinner and dance. Later that night we were able to get to know each other a little more as we restocked the food from the kitchen to the tables for the conference. I remember thinking how wonderful it was to be able to enjoy conversation with someone so sincere and kindhearted. I knew I was interested in getting to know her better, but I did not get her information that night. The impression of the time we spent together that night stuck with me. Over the next ten months my mind would recall her here and there. In August of 2022, I ran into a mutual friend and I knew that she would have the contact information for Rachel. I jumped on the opportunity to get back in touch with Rachel and I have not looked back or wavered since that time. Rachel's Story: In August 2022, I got a text from a mutual friend asking if I remembered "that guy who wore the apron at the conference" and asked if she could give my number to Heath. We began texting every couple of days, then daily, then multiple times a day. I went on vacation to Florida. We texted. I went on a cruise to Alaska. We texted. When we could sneak in dates, we did. When time didn't allow it, we talked for hours. We talked about anything and everything, which sounds cliche but it's accurate. Our first date was spent walking around Piedmont Park. More talking. Our next date was at the Botanical Gardens. More talking! And then bowling. I won. (Thank you college bowling class!) Enter Abigail on dates. We went to Six Flags where we saw Santa, roasted marshmallows, had hot chocolate and saw the Christmas lights. We went to the Nutcracker Ballet. Everything with Heath and Abigail was just comfortable. We fit. Right after New Years, we were going to the mall to paint pottery and we casually talked about the future. Is this right? Is this what we want? It was. And it is. I am blessed to have found my person. And my bonus person. Life will be an adventure building and growing as a family. And I can't wait.
