When is the best time to buy my plane ticket ?

Answer

From our experience, the best ticket prices are usually around three months out from your trip. We would recommend looking up your potential flight dates in a private browser on Google Flights to compare airlines to get the most accurate prices.

Do I need a visa to visit South Africa ?

Answer

No - if you are an American citizen, you will receive a visa upon entry.

Do I need a rental car while I'm in Cape Town ?

Answer

No you don't but that is up to you - a rental car will make your life easier though. Just note that we drive on the left in South Africa and the driver is on the right hand side of the car. Uber is absolutely perfect whilst you traveling in and around Cape Town as everything is pretty much 15-20 minutes away. So these trips will likely be short and at a very low price. However, for the wedding day. The ceremony itself is a 60 minute drive outside of Cape Town in Franschhoek. We would suggest either renting a car or carpooling just for the 15th of April. We would recommend using either Europcar, Tempest or Hertz. If you have any questions or need any additional information, please reach out to us !

How far is the ceremony venue to the reception venue ?

Answer

The wedding ceremony which is in Franschhoek, is about a 90 minute drive from the wedding reception in Cape Town. It takes bit longer to come back into the city due to traffic. But there will be a few hours between the two events, so guests will have enough time to check into their final accommodation, and or freshen up !
