Our story began while celebrating Priscilla’s birthday in the Hollywood Hills. If you didn’t know already, Jasmine (Stacy’s sister) and Su (Heain’s sister) were big and little at Kappa Alpha Theta, UC Irvine. Su asked if she could bring along her older brother to the birthday party. Heain thought it would finally be a great opportunity to finally meet the famiLEE that Su and Jasmine both talked so much about. Stacy was helping to host Priscilla's party, and encouraging guests to drink. As Heain and Su enter the party, Stacy is especially nice to him and asks to take some shots. Even as Stacy leaves to begin a game of beer pong with her dad, Heain follows her to the table to keep the conversation flowing. Sources say that Heain didn't leave Stacy's side during the entire beer pong game, and he wasn't even playing! Heain was definitely the reason why Stacy and her dad lost. As the night goes on, the party moves to a bar and Heain buys Stacy a drink. A couple of conversation topics, and shared beers later, Heain can tell that he wants to know Stacy a lot better. The night comes to an end, and Heain comes up with an excuse to talk about food, and brings up DineLA week. Heain asks to take Stacy out to dinner later, and she agreed! The rest is history!
Prior to meeting, Stacy was planning to teach English in South Korea. She had quit her job, planned a trip to Europe, got her teaching certificate, and was ready to experience life abroad. Heain had his life figured out, he was an ICU nurse and just began his Master's program at USC for Nurse Practitioner. Dating went at warp-speed. A second date quickly followed the first, and they both wanted to see each other again. They had a shared love for sushi and tacos, and on a beach date, Heain found out that Stacy could throw a football much better than him. Maybe you saw that Heain posted an Instagram Story of a mystery girl while on a rock climbing date! In just two weeks, they made it official. Obviously, Stacy didn't end up moving to Korea! Heain takes all the credit for influencing her decision to stay!
Fun fact - on their 3rd date (only 1.5 weeks into dating), Stacy spontaneously asked Heain to join her in Europe! She was spending two weeks in Italy with Jasmine, and wanted to keep traveling for two more weeks. Stacy really wanted a travel companion, and Stacy loved Heain's company. And when you know, you know, right?! To her surprise, he agreed! Within only a month and of a half of meeting for the first time, Heain met Stacy in London, they explored Amsterdam together, and Heain told Stacy he loved her in Paris!
Heain wanted Stacy to be completely surprised for his proposal. So Heain mentioned to Stacy that he scored tickets to the Lakers home season opener. He laid it on thick, telling her that they were attending the pre-game shoot around on home court before tip off! Stacy was extremely excited, and even thought she might have an opportunity to meet Lebron. Little did she know, the plan was not as she expected. On the day of the proposal, Heain told Stacy he need to pick up the Lakers tickets from his friend's house that was located in Glendale. During the drive, Stacy fell asleep and to her surprise, woke up at a random airplane hangar. As Heain started changing into a suit jacket, she quickly realized that they were not actually going to the Laker game. Realization began to sink in, and Stacy and Heain were escorted through the airplane hangar and led to a small helicopter. Stacy and Heain soared through the skies of Los Angeles via helicopter making their way up PCH. Suddenly, their pilot noticed a small picnic table isolated in the Malibu mountains and piloted the chopper to investigate. The pilot landed on the top of the mountain where a romantic picnic was set up for Heain and Stacy. It was here that Heain proposed! Of course, Stacy said yes.
