On August 26, 2015 we were in our senior year. Aliya had decided that Anthony would be her football player, and she would make him locker signs and give him different treats each week to hype him up for the games. One afternoon Aliya and Gabby went out to lunch and while Aliya was in the bathroom Gabby took her phone and messaged Anthony asking him to go out to ice cream after the game with her friends and instead he decided that it should be just them. Aliya was very nervous and almost ditched him that night. However, thankful Aliya did not. Aliya and Anthony planned on going to an ice cream place but it was closed. Instead they went to McDonalds. They spent the whole night just talking and getting to know each other, they were so entranced with one another that they lost track of time. The rest is history.

Anthony took Aliya to the Main Street in Saint Charles Missouri for the lighting of the Christmas Tree. They walked around for a while until they ended up at the Gazebo. There was old school carolers singing. Apparently the secret photographer that Anthony hired had told them that there was going to be an engagement. The photographer had also hid Aliya’s best friends Gabby and Arielle. They were just wanting for us to come up there. Aliya was very hesitant to go up there because she did not want to be rude. They went up there and did their traditions they have made throughout the years. They kissed under the mistletoe and took pictures up there. It was a bit awkward honestly because there was a crowd around. Eventually Anthony had Aliya turned around and when she turned back around Anthony was on his knee. Aliya was in tears, she was shocked and so overwhelmed with happiness. Of course she said YES!
