The first time we saw each other was at a party a classmate was having, but we didn't actually meet until about a month later. A mutual friend invited Michael to spend his lunch hour with him & his group of friends, to which Michael agreed. Our mutual friend introduced him to the group & Hillary remembered him from the party. (She also remembered commenting to a friend how cute Michael was at the party!) One thing led to another, and four months later we became high school sweethearts.
Michael wanted to propose to Hillary in a way that reflected who we are as a couple. We went to breakfast that morning at our favorite coffee shop (a weekly tradition for us) and we spent the day together at home with our fur babies watching our favorite TV shows. Hillary wanted to go to the California Living Museum to see the annual holiday lights before they were taken down, so Michael took us & we had dinner together after. Michael then had the idea to take Hillary to The Parks at Riverwalk. We used to go here about once a month when we first got together. We walked around and stopped at our favorite table. Michael became extremely nervous! He asked "Do you love me?" Hillary replies "Of course, more than anything." Michael says to her "The first time we came here together, I knew I already liked you. By the third time we came here, I knew I was already in love with you. So this felt like the perfect place to show you how much I love you." He got down on one knee and Hillary was crying before he even asked her "Will you marry me?" To which she, of course, said "YES!"
