We're getting married!

Adam and Sami met at the University of Michigan through mutual friends during Welcome Week before they started their junior year of college.

It seemed like any other Friday night - sushi and sake at one of our favorite spots in Chicago. After dinner, Adam wanted to get drinks at The Drake just a few blocks away. The Drake has always been a special spot for us - whenever my family is in town, we get my Dad's favorite drink there and watch the live jazz band. My Mimi & Papa also celebrated their honeymoon at The Drake almost 60 years before! After going only a few blocks, the driver (one of Adam's sneaky accomplices) made a strange turn that took us completely out of the way of our destination. Adam suddenly leaped out of the car and insisted that we walk the rest of the way...in a snow storm. As we made our way up Michigan Avenue, we passed by one of my favorite spots in Chicago - the Fourth Presbyterian Church. As we were approaching the courtyard, Adam spun around, got down on one knee and I said "YES!" Our closest family and best friends were waiting for us afterwards for a big surprise engagement party!
