This is a great little rink in the middle of city park!
Be sure to stop at the historic Hale library, the Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, or (if you're not cold enough) Call Hall for some ice cream.
If you're feeling adventurous on this cold weekend or want proof that Kansas is actually not the flattest state in the nation (it's Florida--as if Florida wasn't bad enough) check out this trail. It's also where Brett used to do some research work in and after college!
This is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. Do you like Bourbon? They do too. They also like really good southern-inspired small plates. We recommend their chicken and waffles.
You can't go wrong in Aggieville. It's also a college student hang-out so expect it to be family friendly most of the day and evening with some possibility of it getting a little more out of control at night. Our favorites are: Acme Gift (where Jessica used to work in college), Varsity Donuts (or their food truck!), Radina's or Bluestem's coffee shops, and several restaurants or bars that we're a fan of: Auntie Mae's, Taco Lucha, Rock-a-Belly Deli, So Long Saloon, and Coco Bolos.
If yoga is your thing, or you want to try it out, definitely go to Orange Sky. It's the best. No shoes on the yoga studio floor. Let them know if it's your first time. And prepare to feel like you've napped and worked out simultaneously at the end of the hour.
The Student Union is newly updated and this is great place to unwind with some bowling or arcade games. You should know that the Parsons have some bowling talent in their blood, so prepare to get beat if you bring a Parsons with you.
Take a stroll in Manhattan's historic downtown which includes some of our favorite restaurants such as Tallgrass Tap House, Bourbon and Baker, Harry's, and fun little dive bar called Finn's.
I assume you like donuts. Or maybe they're your nemesis (like they are ours). Regardless, this is a place you should go to meet your nemesis/get the yummiest donuts. They also have a late night food truck out back which sells a GRILLED CHEESE MAC N CHEESE SANDWICH, Y'ALL. We can't stress this enough. GRILLED. CHEESE. MAC. N CHEESE. Side note: try not to eat your donut fill because we'll be substituting cake for donuts at our reception.
The best divey bar we've found; complete with grumpy as hell bartenders, strong drinks, pool upstairs, and a speak-easy basement.
Do you like kitschy 80's music and amazing breakfast? There's likely a wait if it's Saturday or Sunday morning, but go grab a manmosa or a cup of coffee, channel your inner Leslie Knope/Ron Swanson, and get yourself some breakfast.
This is one of our favorite coffee and cocktail spots in Manhattan. We can't wait to get ourselves a Smoke on the Water cocktail when we go back.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in town. It's outside of the Aggieville so if you're looking for a little more of a low key place, it's a good choice. We recommend the buffalo chicken dip appetizer and the rattlesnake pizza.
