There are various places nearby that offer chartered and non-chartered rental pontoons and tiki boats for Crab Island. There are also jet ski rentals. Crab Island is a large sand bar nearby where you can park your watercraft, BYOB, and enjoy the ocean and sun. Google Crab Island Rentals to find various options to rent.
Fishing
There are several options for fishing. Pier fishing, inshore, and offshore. There are various places online to check out what you are looking for. Just make sure you get your fishing license !

Kayaking and Paddle boarding
Kayaking and paddle boarding is a big hit in Destin. They even offer clear bottom canoes. Whether you wanna stand up and paddle board or kayak, there are several options to pick from to explore the clear water in Destin. You might even see a manatee or dolphin!
Surf Lessons by Ride On Surf School
Learn to surf on forgiving waves! I (Haylie) had the chance to surf in California and I had so much fun. This would be a really fun thing to try while visiting Destin if you’ve never done it before.
Dolphin Cruise
Charter a dolphin cruise! There are many options for sight seeing along the coast of Destin while also getting to check out the dolphins. Some even offer sunset and alcohol options.
Destin Harbor Boardwalk
This is a tourist favorite in Destin. You can walk the board walk and shop or stop in for a bite to eat. It’s also a hot spot for booking charters of all types.
Fudpucker's Beachside Bar & Grill
A neat place to get a bite to eat and some drinks! This place is different due to the Alligator Park in the middle of the restaurant. You can watch the alligators sunbathe while you dine.
Lulu’s
Jimmy Buffett’s sister, Lucy Buffett’s restaurant, Lulus. This particular location is right on the water. You can pull up on a jet-ski or boat, or come via car! There’s an arcade inside as well.
McGuire's Irish Pub of Destin
McGuire’s Irish Pub comes highly recommended for their food and atmosphere. A laid back bar where you’ll find dollar bills taped to the ceiling and yummy steaks to be served.
Pompano Joe's
This one is just a few feet away from our rental house! Right on the beach and the public beach access. Fun fact: it’s also where we intend on taking photos before the ceremony (on the beach)
The Back Porch
Gulf Seafood is The Back Porch’s specialty. If you like oysters and seafood you need to check it out. Last time I checked, they even serve brunch and bottomless mimosas on Sundays. They’ve been around for over 40 years.
Crab Trap Destin
The Crab Trap is seafood dining right on the beach. They offer a pretty decent special on crab legs for 2 if you love crab legs as much as me!
Royal Palm Grille
The restaurant we are getting married at! They have Seafood, Steaks, Sushi, and Oysters. You can also venture over the bridge to the beach where their Beach Bar is located. This is where the wedding and reception will take place.
Surf Hut
Dinner and drinks right on the beach! Another laid back beach bar option!
