Many of you know the story of how we met but I love the story so much I want to tell it again…as it is the perfect love story for our life! I moved to Bradenton during the summer of 2014 after graduating from the University of Florida. As my first "adult" purchase, I decided to purchase a jet ski. After mom and Danny tried to teach me to back a trailer, it was decided that was a bad idea (I’m not a very good driver…lol). We looked up marinas in the area that I could leave it at and as fate would have it, Hidden Harbor was the first marina to come up for "marinas near me." Spencer was the manager at Hidden Harbor Marina in Sarasota. So we show up to the marina and Spencer tells us, "I don't like jet skis but I guess." So we go to fill out the lease and I tell him that I need to keep the trailer there too because I live in an apartment complex. He says (very bluntly) "I don't store trailers". So we leave and I tell mom "He's a jerk! I don't like him at all”! Mom, (in her infinite mom intuition) tells me "He's going to ask you out." Well less than a month later, I need my ski put on the trailer to take home for the weekend. Spencer tells me the forklift driver is on lunch and nobody else is able to drive, so I’m going to have to wait (however, later I find out that he can drive the forklift). After waiting in the hot Florida sun for an hour, he asks for my number and he got my ski for me. On our first date, we went to Marina Jacks for dinner. After that, we walked around the marina. He asked me when I was bringing the ski back, since it was still at the apartment. I told it would be within the next few days and he then says “ok…I will store the trailer too”. And, as they say, the rest is history!
