They matched on Bumble! After a killer opening joke from Hayley, they chatted for a few weeks before finally meeting for drinks at a bar in Manhattan. Some great conversation and a free tequila shot later (couldn't say no to a promotion!), Reid and Hayley both knew they wanted to see each other again. Pretty quickly once a week dates turned into twice a week, and even Reid moving to Hoboken couldn't get in their way. Soon every weekend was spent together, and it didn't take them long to realize they wanted that to turn into the rest of their lives.

Even though Hayley and Reid had discussed the possibility of a summer 2020 engagement, the entire day caught Hayley completely by surprise. They were in Maine for a few weeks, both working remotely due to Covid. What Hayley thought was going to be a relaxing afternoon after finishing up school turned out to be the most perfect day of her life! After playing some board games with Angie (and Hayley taking her sweet time leaving the house...sorry Reid), Reid suggested stopping by the river on their way back. They enjoyed the view and chatted for a bit before Reid got down on one knee! The surprises didn't stop there - they came back to a beautifully decorated backyard and Reid's family waiting to celebrate. The final surprise was Hayley turning around to see her parents walking out of the house too! The day was perfect - filled with happy tears, lots of champagne, and Hayley reminding everyone every 3 minutes that they were engaged. Reid knocked it out of the park :)
