We love your little ones! Children are welcome to join us for the celebration at Lulu’s Winegarden. However, our ceremony will be a brief, intimate elopement in a public space, and we’re kindly asking for no kids at the ceremony itself. We hope this allows everyone to be fully present for the short and sweet “I do’s.”
Yes! DC War Memorial Ceremony: There’s no dedicated onsite parking. However, you can find street parking (both metered and free) nearby. Lots A–D on Ohio Drive SW also allow paid parking for up to 6 hours. Lulu’s Winegarden Celebration: On-street parking is available nearby, and the venue also has valet and garage options.
Our ceremony is at 3:00 pm, and the celebration at Lulu’s Winegarden starts at 5:00 pm. That gives you roughly 1.5 hours in between—perfect for a coffee run or a stroll through the National Mall.
Rain or shine, the celebration is on! The DC War Memorial is a covered outdoor structure, so we’ll still be able to say “I do” even if there’s a light drizzle. For the celebration at Lulu’s Winegarden, we’ve reserved a private courtyard space with a retractable awning and heaters—so we’ll stay dry and cozy no matter what the weather brings.
Dress code: cocktail attire meets garden party chic. Think brightly colored cocktail dresses, playful prints, and outfits that feel polished yet relaxed. Ties are optional for men—feel free to keep it stylish but not too formal. Since the ceremony is outdoors and the celebration is in a garden courtyard, we recommend shoes that work well on grass or gravel.
Our invitations are meant for each household, so if your invitation is addressed to your family, that includes everyone who lives with you. If you're unsure who's included, feel free to check with us! Due to the intimate nature of our celebration, we’re not able to accommodate additional guests outside of those listed on the invitation—thanks so much for understanding.
Yes! We’ll have an appetizer buffet with a mix of light bites, fresh salads, and some heartier options—so come hungry. There will also be an open bar with beer, wine, and liquor, plus non-alcoholic options like sodas and mocktails. This will be more of a happy hour-style celebration, wrapping up around 7:00 pm. If you're still hungry afterward, we encourage you to explore DC’s incredible food scene—there are tons of fantastic dinner spots nearby!
The closest airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)—about 15 minutes from both the ceremony and reception locations. Dulles International (IAD) and Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) are also options, though they’re a bit farther out (around 45–60 minutes depending on traffic).
We don’t have a formal room block, but we’ve put together a list of nearby hotel recommendations here on our website to help you find a convenient place to stay. Be sure to book early—September is a popular time to visit DC!
Yes! You can find our registry right here on our Zola website. Your presence is truly the best gift, but if you'd like to send something, you’ll find a mix of traditional gifts as well as options to contribute to our honeymoon fund—feel free to choose whatever feels right.
