South Beach near the pier is the more bustling section of the beach, and for those looking for a quieter experience, North Beach is a great option!
We went on this tour the first time Hayley brought Nick to Tybee. It's a fun and scenic way to explore Tybee's waterways, see the old Cockspur Island Lighthouse (the smallest lighthouse in Georgia), and you might get lucky enough to see some dolphins up close and personal!
River Street, nestled beside the Savannah River, is one of the most popular places in Historic Savannah to walk around, shop, or grab a drink. When you walk down the street, you feel like you are stepping back in time! The streets are lined with cobblestones, and the buildings are centuries old. While it's fun to just walk the street, there's also many shops, bars, and restaurants to check out here. We personally recommend stopping by River Street Sweets or Savannah Candy Kitchen to try some famous pralines.
This fairly new addition to the Savannah riverfront area offers trendy rooftop bars, restaurants, and shops and has a fun nightlife scene. We personally recommend Electric Moon Skytop Lounge + The Moon Deck and Myrtle & Rose Rooftop Bar.
Savannah's Historic District is the hub of downtown Savannah and offers endless Southern charm. One of the best things to do here is simply walk around, so here are a few suggestions to make the most of it: - Explore Savannah's 22 picturesque squares and parks. - Take a ghost tour! Savannah claims to be one of America's Most Haunted Cities, and a ghost tour (especially at night) is for sure a unique way to learn some of the city's more chilling history. - Savannah is home to many delicious restaurants, so what better way to explore the culinary scene here than taking a food tour!
Broughton Street is the main shopping area in downtown Savannah, lined with many cute local boutiques as well as coffee shops and restaurants. One of our favorite places here is Savannah Bee Company, where you can sample and buy some delicious local honey and participate in a mead tasting. Leopold's Ice Cream is also a century-old staple.
Visiting Forsyth Park is by far one of the most popular things to do in Savannah. The park spans over 30 acres and is most easily recognized by the mossy oak-lined sidewalks and the city’s most famous fountain—modeled after the French fountains at Place de la Concorde in Paris. There are often artist markets here on weekends.
