If you ask Matt, he will tell you I signed up for him...however, that is not exactly how the story went! We met on Wallace Field at Salve Regina, it was the first day of powder puff practice. Of course, I walked onto the field and made it known that I was going to be the quarterback (apparently, all the guys thought I was, to put it nicely, a little sassy). Matt was one of the coaches for the freshman/sophomore powder puff team. A few weeks later, it was game day. With only a couple minutes left in the game, a snap went over my head and I ran back to retrieve it. Little did I know, a senior was gunning for me. I picked up the ball and as I turned around the senior laid me out. Literally, I got decked. I heard the sideline gasp and the only coach that ran to my rescue was Matt. Matt was asking me if I was okay and as I sat up, I saw he had a beer in his hand. I grabbed his beer (this was before I went gluten free) and chugged it. Handed him back the empty can, said I was okay and ran back to the game. Matt won my heart <3 and from that day on, he's always been there to pick me up whenever I fall down.
Tod's Point, at sunset, with Mimi...it was perfection.
