Kyle was still new to living in Charlotte, and Hayley was finally recovered enough from her foot surgery that one fateful Sunday they had one common goal - watch the Buffalo Bills beat the New England Patriots. They both ended up at Charlotte's Bills Backer Bar, Tavern on the Tracks. When their friends started talking, their groups ended up spending the day together, and by the end of the day Kyle had proposed to Hayley with a clothespin (which they still have - tune into the Proposal Story to see where it comes back into play!)

After winning a photoshoot earlier in the year at a charity event, Kyle decided this was the perfect time to propose - they would both be dressed up and there would be someone there to capture the moment. At the photoshoot's last location, which Kyle had planned out, they were prompted to hold hands, look at each other and just talk. After some laughs and some tears, Kyle got down on one knee while holding that same clothespin from the day they met. This time it was holding the most beautiful engagement ring! Afterwards, Kyle had planned a surprise engagement party & they celebrated all day and night!
