FAQs

Question

When do I need to book accommodations?

Answer

ASAP! Most lodging on the island is Airbnbs and Vrbos. These are typically booked well in advance. We'd recommend booking your stay and golf cart rental as soon as you know you're able to attend. Details are located under the travel tab.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

For our wedding, we kindly request beach formal attire. May weather in the Bahamas can reach a high of 85 degrees. We suggest light fabrics and comfortable yet elegant outfits. Men: Dress pants or trousers with a collared shirt (a tie or blazer is optional). Please no shorts. Women: Long summer dresses or jumpsuits, with dressy sandals, wedges, or chunky heels.

Question

Passport requirements?

Answer

Your passport must be up to date and valid to travel to the Bahamas. Please confirm that your passport is not set to expire in six months or less from the date of departure. If you are in need of a new passport or an updated passport, please expect the process to take 7 to 10 weeks. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply.html

Question

What is the currency in The Bahamas?

Answer

Everywhere will accept the US dollar, exchanging to the Bahamian dollar is not necessary. US dollar and Bahamian dollar have an exchange rate of 1 to 1.

Question

Will I have cell service on the island?

Answer

Since this location is outside of the USA, please consider your international cellular plan. While most restaurants have free WIFI the service may be spotty.

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

Due to limited space and planning considerations, we ask that you do not bring a guest unless specified on your formal invitation.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We kindly request that our special day be an adults-only celebration. We hope you will enjoy this opportunity for a relaxing getaway and we appreciate your understanding.

Question

What if I forget to RSVP?

Answer

To ensure we can plan our celebration smoothly, we ask that all guests RSVP by March 3rd. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate guests who do not RSVP by this date. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with you!

Question

Can I take pictures/videos during the ceremony?

Answer

This will be an unplugged ceremony, we ask that you please refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony. We want to be fully present and enjoy these intimate moments with you, and we’ll have a professional photographer capturing everything. After the ceremony, we’ll be thrilled to share those photos with you!
