Uber/Taxi/Subway are the best options for getting to the venue. There is not a shuttle to and from the venue. When ordering your uber or taxi, be sure to specify the "prospect park boathouse" at 101 East Dr, Brooklyn 11225 (NOT 95 Prospect Park W). The driver should drop you on the corner of Ocean Ave and E Lake Dr. Proceed into the entrance of the park and an attendant will be waiting to escort you to the venue. The boathouse is about a 3-5 minute walk from the street entrance. If taking the subway, I recommend downloading the "Citymapper" app for the best routes. When exiting the station on Ocean Ave & Lincoln Rd, take a right and you should see the entrance to the park on E Lake Dr. Please note-- you do not need to buy a multi-use metro card to use the subway! You can use any debit/credit card with touch technology to scan through the turnstiles.
Please arrive at the venue promptly at 5:30pm. After the ceremony, we will immediately transition into the cocktail hour where there will be drinks, light bites, and live music. After the cocktail hour, we will move inside for dinner, speeches, and dancing. The bride and groom love to dance, so please come ready to have a good time!
The dress code is formal or black-tie optional. This means for men, tuxedos and suits are both welcome. For women, floor-length gowns or cocktail dresses are both welcome. The groomsmen will be in tuxedos and the bridesmaids will be in floor-length black gowns. For women, if choosing to wear heels, I recommend block heels over stiletto heels due to the herringbone stone floors in the venue.
For our guests who are driving to the venue, we do have a specified area for parking. Please contact the bride and groom for further details.
Both the ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside, pending weather. The rest of the reception will be indoors and guests will have access to outdoors at any point during the event. If the weather is cold, please feel free to bring a coat and we will have a rack inside for you to store your coat during the remainder of the event.
While we love children, our wedding is adults-only due to a smaller guest count. The names specified on the invitations are the guests invited to the wedding.
Please check out the "things to do" section of our website for restaurant, bar, and activity suggestions. For restaurants, we highly recommend making reservations ahead of time. I recommend the "Resy" and "Open Table" apps for making reservations. For navigating around the city-- taxis and ubers are readily available but are typically the most costly transportation options. The subway is the fastest and most cost-effective option to navigate the city. I recommend downloading the app "Citymapper" for subway routes, or you can use google maps as well. While the subway can feel intimidating, it is actually quite straightforward! The biggest mistake people make is confusing the "uptown" and "downtown" trains, so just make sure you know what direction you're headed :)
During the ceremony, we kindly ask that all guests turn their phones on silent and do not take any pictures. This is to ensure that stray iphones are not included in our professional photographs. After the ceremony, please feel free to take as many photos as you'd like. The bride and groom would love to pose for a few with you!
